The Tenth Street Church of Christ is a Bible based Christian church that has been in the Lower East Side (now East Village) for over 65 years. We have been serving in this community, teaching about Jesus' love and salvation. We call this the GOOD News, the Gospel. God reaching down to humanity to reconcile us to Himself.
This church was established in 1955 by an organization called the Go Ye Chapel along with its first evangelist and wife David Vanght Elliot and Margaret Elliott. He was a graduate of Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary. He preached at the church until 1971. He was followed by a number of preachers. In 1977 Keith Canton came to New York and has been working here for 47 years to the present, 2024.
Our Mission
Our mission is to seek and save the lost like Jesus said in the Great commission.  We were lost and someone told us the good news about Jesus we need to tell others as we love God and love people.
 Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
18 Then Jesus came to them and
said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has
been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with
you always, to the very end of the age."

God's Plan of Salvation
We are to place our FAITH in Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, trusting in Him alone to get us to heaven (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 11:6) We must be willing to turn away from sin and toward God in REPENTANCE (Acts 2:38 Corinthians 7:10). We must CONFESS Jesus as Lord, the Christ, and Son of the Living God (Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9). We are to be buried with Christ in the waters of Christian BAPTISM (immersion)for the forgiveness of sin and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38; 1 Peter 3:21; Mark 16:16). As a Christian, we are called to live a life of FAITHFULNESS to God (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
The Four Spiritual Laws
God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. However, you are sinful; therefore, separated from God. Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again, becoming the bridge between you (sinful man) and Holy God.  Jesus is the only way to God the Father. You must personally receive this gift of salvation by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.  This done through faith, repentance, confession, and baptism.
